Siphon Zeeburg

Commissioned by The Department of Public Works, the Siphon under the Amsterdam Rhine Canal at Zeeburg was replaced. The old Siphon leaked and was not deep enough for modern shipping. The purpose of the Siphon is to transport water from Amsterdam and Amstelland to the IJmeer and providing the Amsterdam canals with clean water. Building contractor De Clerk selected A.P. van den Berg for the delivery and installation of six complete hydraulic systems consisting of among others twelve cylinders and piping.
