Mark Laffra takes the helm at A.P. van den Berg

On 1 January 2026, Mark Laffra will be appointed Managing Director of A.P. van den Berg. Mark Laffra has been with the company since 2020 as Production Manager. In this role, he has made a significant contribution to the professionalisation of production processes, the optimisation of the internal organisation and the realisation of growth within the production department.

His technical background, combined with his experience in operations and leadership, make him ideally suited to continue the company's strategic course.

‘It is a special honour to take upon myself the leadership in such an innovative and globally recognised company,’ says Mark Laffra. ‘I look forward to continuing the successful course together with the A.P. van den Berg team and exploiting new opportunities in the sector.’

Mark Woollard steps down

So, after more than 15 years of service, including 5.5 years as Managing Director, Mark Woollard will hand over the reins to Mark Laffra. However, he will not be disappearing from the scene entirely, as he will remain involved with the company as an advisor to the shareholders, the van den Berg family, and to the new management.

Under his leadership, important milestones have been achieved, such as the move to the new premises at the Komeet in Heerenveen and the strengthening of A.P. van den Berg's international position.

‘It has been a wonderful and educational time, during which I have had the pleasure of contributing to growth and innovation within A.P. van den Berg,’ says Mark Woollard. ‘I am proud of what we have achieved and I am confident in making way for Mark Laffra, a solid internal successor. With A.P. van den Berg in good hands, I can shift my focus to new challenges for a construction company in Norway.’

A new chapter

With the appointment of Mark Laffra, A.P. van den Berg is embarking on a new chapter, in which he wants to focus on innovation and continuity in our production and engineering & development processes. For the focus on commercial activities and to strengthen the commercial team, he wants to expand the management team with a Commercial Director. A.P. van den Berg is currently searching for a suitable candidate with the help of Edwin Verspui from VA Search.
