Wireless data transfer via light conduction
With the Optocone, you can replace the traditional measuring cable with a fully wireless system. This simplifies handling, improves operator comfort and creates new opportunities for automation, such as automatic rod handling.
An optical adapter, positioned directly behind the cone, digitizes the measurement signals and transmits them via light conduction to a camera mounted above the CPT string. This eliminates the need for a measuring cable. Even while adding new CPT rods, measurements continue uninterrupted. In combination with Ifield software, all measurement data and depth information are processed and displayed in real time, ensuring complete and accurate data registration. Thanks to the built-in data storage, no measurement data is lost during rod changes.
The Optocone is compatible with all onshore CPT systems, is widely used in the Track-Truck and CPT Crawler, and suitable for any CPT depth. Optical repeaters can be added when extended range is required.
