Icone Conductivity Module
The Icone Conductivity Module is a plug-and-play extension to the Icone data system. It measures variations in soil electrical conductivity, enabling the detection of sand and clay layers, tracking of saltwater-bearing layers and identification of soil contamination.
Insight into soil stratigraphy and contamination
The Icone Conductivity Module is designed for true plug-and-play operation. Once connected, the module is automatically recognized by the Ifield software, and measurement results are displayed in real time without the need for manual configuration. The module can be seamlessly combined with an Icone or used as a standalone measurement unit.

The module is suitable for both onshore and offshore applications, to depths of up to 1,000 meters and is compatible with all A.P. van den Berg cone penetration systems.
Measurement Principle
The Conductivity Module consists of four electrode rings separated by ceramic insulators. A controlled alternating current (AC) is applied between the outer electrodes, while the voltage drop across the inner electrodes is measured. This configuration prevents polarization effects and ensures stable and reproducible measurements.
Plug & Play
The Conductivity Module is part of the fully digital, modular Icone system. The module is positioned directly behind an Icone using a short coupling adapter. For measurements without cone penetration data, a dummy cone can be used. The module is automatically recognized by the Ifield software, enabling immediate data logging and real-time visualization.
