WISON-APB
This wireline Cone Penetration Test equipment is designed to work within a drillpipe. The "down-the-hole" tools are pushed into the soil beyond the drillbit by means of a hydraulic cylinder. A fully equipped drill ship with moon pool, power swivel, mud pomp and seabed clamp is required. Communication between the interface and the PC goes through two wires in the umbilical cable.

Special features
Easy to operate, big CPT depth. Optionally a wireline Vanetester and sampler can be installed.

Umbilical cable

This specially designed umbilical cable has an average live span of 5 years. The oil hydraulics of the winch also takes care of the necessary hydraulic supply to the cylinders. Reset of the hydraulic cylinders is done by the special high-pressure water pump. The 16 bit down-the-hole data acquisition telemetry system uses only two wires in the umbilical cable. Depth recording finds place by means of the measuring cylinder which is integrated in the winch hydraulics.

Drill rig

The drill rig must be suitable for drill pipes of minimum 100 mm inner diameter, for instance 4½IF API. The pulling capacity of the drill rig depends on the test depth and drill pipe diameter.

Seabed clamp

The seabed frame clamp provides the deadweight during the Cone Penetration Test. The seabed clamp also functions as re-entry frame if the hole needs to be emptied during the drilling process. The drill head guide ensures that the drill head can re-enter the borehole.
