CPT Crawler

CPT crawler A.P. van den Berg The heavy CPT crawler is specially suited for heavy Cone Penetration Tests on sites with soft terrain, where it is difficult to moeuvre or where the admissible height is limited.

For the cross connection of the tracks, a sub frame is made, that largely absorbs the forces generated during Cone Penetration Testing. This frame also contains the necessary ballast. Furthermore it supports all other features, like the CPT unit (types HYSON 200 kN, COSON 200 kN, AUTOCOSON or AUTOHYSON), the work cabin, the engine compartment and the levelling jacks.

Transport
The Cone Penetration Test Crawler is transported by road by means of a flatbed trailer or a specially adapted truck. In order to load/unload the CPT Crawler, the truck can be supplied with ramps or the crawler can be provided with 4 extended jacking cylinders, allowing the truck to back up underneath the trailer.

The Transport Truck can be provided with a special frame and levelling jacks and a fixation system for the CPT Crawler, in order to perform Cone Penetration Tests with the CPT crawler "piggy-backed" on the truck, thus providing more counterweight and saving load/unload time.

Wireless remote control and options for crawler plates

Like the Track-Truck a remote control "chestpack" lets the operator manoeuvre the Crawler from a safe distance. Also the crawler plates can be designed in the desired design. Read more about these options on the page Track-Truck.

Read more about the CPT Crawler in Leaflet S07.
