Optocone
![]() |
The unique patented Optocone system provides a wireless transmission of the Cone Penetration Testing data. The data transmission goes through the CPT rods which are provided with a light transducer. The measuring signals are converted into light signals which are transmitted through the light transducers. A digi-cone with an OC battery unit mounted inside a screwthread adapter/friction reducer behind the electrical cone takes care of registration, digitalization, conversion and transmission the measuring signals.

The registration of inclination in two directions is integrated in the digi-cone module. The light signals are received by a special optical receiver that is positioned right above the Cone Penetration Testing string on the upper bridge of the penetrometer. An advanced combination of electronical and software engineering ensures the registration of measuring signals while adding on new CPT rods. |

The signals from the optical receiver are combined with the data from depth registration system in the GologCCI Optocone. This composed signal is transmitted to a computer (laptop or Touch-Screen) over an RS232 connection. On the computer the windows-based GOnsite!® registration software is installed for presentation on screen and further processing and storage of the data. |
